According to Footmercato, Arsenal have enquired about the possibility of signing winger Jeremie Boga following his excellent form this season.

The former Chelsea winger has been a revelation since joining Sassuolo.

Boga has bagged eight goals and four assists in Serie A this season, attracting the attentions of Tottenham Hotspur according to Calciomercato.

Current Spurs manager Jose Mourinho had Boga in his youth ranks at Chelsea.

The Portuguese boss rated the 23-year-old highly, dubbing him ‘the future’ of the Blues in 2014.

But Boga struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge. Instead, he joined Sassuolo on a permanent deal where he is now attracting a host of top clubs.

Footmercato claim Arsenal have enquired about him. However, the Gunners face competition from Borussia Dortmund, Sevilla and Barcelona among others.

Sassuolo have already rejected a £19 million bid from Napoli. The French editorial, though, claim a bid in the region of £27 million will be too hard to refuse.

Arsenal have an abundance of talent who can play in wide forward areas in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Nicolas Pepe, Bukayo Saka and Reiss Nelson.

The future of Aubameyang, however, is questionable as his contract expires at the Premier League club in 2021.

Mikel Arteta may feel Arsenal could benefit more by cashing in this summer and strengthening the squad with two or three top young signings.

Boga has a big future ahead of him. He may not have made the grade at Chelsea, but neither did Kevin de Bruyne or Mohammed Salah earlier in their careers.
