Arsenal have opened talks with teenage goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo over a new three-year deal at the Emirates, according to AllNigeriaSoccer.
Bukayo Saka, the wing wonder who has produced more assists than any other Gunners player this season, is not the only talented teenager who is set to become a free agent in the summer of 2021.
Arsenal, as you might imagine, are doing their level best to tie Saka down to a new long-term contract.
And while Okonkwo is yet to replicate his impact in the first-team, the north London giants have no desire to let him wak out of the door either.
A 6ft 4ins shot-stopper who has represented England at youth level, Okonkwo is very highly regarded at London Colney and has spent time training with the first-team of late.
And, despite missing much of the current campaign through a long-term injury, Arsenal are still keen to open negotiations over fresh terms.
Okonkwo, it is reported, will be offered a deal that would keep him at the Emirates until 2024.

You can count on one hand the amount of teenage goalkeepers who have established themselves as Premier League regulars in recent seasons so Okonkwo will be under no illusions that he has a long way to go before he can even think about taking Bernd Leno’s place in the starting XI.
But, in Mikel Arteta, Arsenal have a coach who has no qualms about throwing unproven youngsters in at the deep end.
