According to Calciomercato, agent Mino Raiola is continuing to work on a transfer for Arsenal target Justin Kluivert with Roma seeking a £22.5 million fee.

The son of former Dutch legend Patrick Kluivert has been linked with a move.

Arsenal are seemingly in the hunt to sign him. Calciomercato claimed last month how the Gunners were ready to offer to double Kluivert’s wages to £60,000 per week.

But the same editorial now claims Arsenal have gone shy on a potential deal.

Roma seek a £22.5 million fee to guarantee a healthy profit, while the player’s agent Mino Raiola is working hard to ensure a sale as Fiorentina also show an interest.

Arsenal’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan is currently on loan at Roma with his contract at the Emirates Stadium expiring in 2021. The Gunners have the option to leverage a deal.

But manager Mikel Arteta could be still assessing his players ahead of the summer.

Kluivert predominantly features as a wide forward. However, in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Nicolas Pepe and Bukayo Saka, Arsenal aren’t short of options.

The Gunners have been on a role of late, recording away wins at Southampton, Sheffield United and Wolverhampton Wanderers over the past couple of weeks.

Arsenal’s form may be influencing Arteta’s thoughts ahead of the summer transfer window.

Kluivert, meanwhile, has managed just four goals and one assist in 19 Serie A games this season. He was substituted in Roma’s last two games, both ending in defeat.
