Well, Arsenal might have to cough up a little more if they’re going to sign Gianluca Scamacca.

The Sassuolo hitman is heavily linked with a summer transfer to Arsenal.

According to 90 Min, the Gunners were quoted £35 million for the towering striker who, at 6’5, is even bigger than Erling Haaland.

Edu is a massive fan of the Italy international and personally wants him at the Emirates Stadium this summer.

But there’s a catch.

Paris Saint-Germain are also reportedly keen and Foot Mercato has today reported that the Ligue 1 outfit’s interest is causing the player’s valuation to ‘skyrocket’.

Now, Arsenal will have to pay around £42 million to sign Scamacca amid PSG joining the race.

Scamacca to Arsenal

That’s because you’d imagine the player is more tempted to play with the likes of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe in the French capital.

Not only do PSG have much better players than Arsenal, but they’ll be in the Champions League next season, a competition that Mikel Arteta’s outfit would’ve been in if not for a late-season collapse this past term.

And if all those factors weren’t bad enough, the Ligue 1 champions can blow Arsenal out of the water when it comes to finances.

Edu can probably afford to go to £42 million if necessary, but if PSG don’t leave the table then there’s no telling how much more expensive he could get.
