Arsenal could struggle to afford Tottenham Hotspur linked defender Tariq Lamptey from Brighton & Hove Albion, the Daily Mail say.
Arsenal are already in negotiations with Brighton for Ben White and they also have an interest in Lamptey.
However, if the Gunners push through a deal for White – which looks likely – it could leave their budget for a right-back limited.
That means that Arsenal may not be able to afford the rapid right-back, which could play right into Tottenham’s hands.
Sky say that Spurs are chasing the 20-year-old, as they seek to upgrade their options on the right hand side of their defence.
Can Tottenham get him?
Tottenham have Serge Aurier and Matt Doherty in their squad, but neither were particularly convincing last term.

Aurier may even leave this summer, leaving room for Lamptey to come in.
However, Tottenham there may also be some questions over whether Spurs could struggle to afford the full-back, who was described as ‘amazing’ by Graham Potter, just like their North London rivals.
The Mail don’t mention that in their current update, but they have previously reported that Lamptey would cost around £50 million, and at that price he could be a difficult player to purchase.
