Report: Arsenal could now lose £182k-a-week ace in January, already offered to three clubs

Barcelona are considering a potential move to sign Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette in the January transfer window after Sergio Aguero was diagnosed with a heart condition.

That’s according to Sport, who list Lacazette among a four-man shortlist of centre-forwards the Blaugrana are assessing.

Also on the list are Manchester United’s Edison Cavani, Karim Adeyemi of Red Bull Salzburg and Man City’s Raheem Sterling.

Barcelona announced on Monday that Aguero will be unable to feature for the next three-months following a cardiac exam.

The 33-year-old had reported pains in his chest during the first-half of the Catalan giant’s La Liga draw with Deportivo Alaves last Saturday.

Barcelona now intend to sign a striker in the January transfer window to supplement Xavi Hernandez’s first Blaugrana squad.

Xavi will have the final say following his return to the Camp Nou to replace Ronald Koeman as manager. But Barcelona only have €20m (£17m) to spend, which could reduce as sacking Koeman cost the club €12m (£10m).

Lacazette stands out as an option to Barcelona for a January transfer as his Arsenal contract expires in June. The 30-year-old has also struggled for games under Mikel Arteta this term.

Lacazette has only started two Premier League games and featured for 198-minutes so far, scoring once. He has also only opened one of their EFL Cup ties, for a further 131-minutes.

Sport note Barcelona also like Lacazette as his profile is similar to Aguero’s, but Xavi could struggle to sign the striker from Arsenal during the January transfer window.

Reports by Calciomercato claim intermediaries have offered the £182k-a-week striker to AC Milan, Inter Milan and Roma for next summer. With the Serie A trio presented a chance to strike pre-contracts from January ahead of a free transfer.

Additionally, football.london report Lacazette is likely to hold out on leaving Arsenal until he is a free agent. And has told his agent to find possible suitors to secure a big pay day.
