According to the Daily Star, Manchester City are now confident of swooping in to sign Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma.
All signs have been pointing to Arsenal winning the race for Bissouma in order to pair him with Thomas Partey in midfield.
This all started in January when Football.London claimed that Bissouma wanted to join Arsenal over any other Premier League team.
The Daily Star then reported last weekend that Arsenal are confident of winning the race to sign Bissouma this summer despite rival interest from Premier League sides.
Now though, the Star have a new update, and that now suggests that Manchester City are confident they, not Arsenal, will sign Bissouma.
Pap Guardiola has allegedly had Bissouma watched on a number of occasions this season, and are ready to make their move this summer.
A deal for Bissouma could cost around £30million, and Guardiola wants him in his City midfield ranks given that he feels West Ham United’s price tag on Declan Rice is exorbitant.

If City do come calling, then it may be difficult for Arsenal to compete, given that Guardiola’s men could soon be Premier League and Champions League winners.
By contrast, Arsenal are likely to end the season without having European football for next term, making it hard to attract top talents.
With City now allegedly ready to hijack Arsenal in the race for Bissouma, the Gunners could miss out on a player that fancies joining them – and that won’t go down well with fans.
