Arsenal could swap Granit Xhaka for Christian Eriksen with Inter Milan, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Eriksen has endured a miserable time since leaving Tottenham Hotspur to join Inter in January, and is already linked with a move away from the San Siro.
Arsenal are now touted as potential candidates to sign him in January.
The Italian report suggests that Arteta would ‘certainly welcome’ Eriksen at the Emirates Stadium, and he could be interested in a move.
Eriksen is said to be keen on the idea of returning to London, with the idea of swapping Xhaka suggested as a possibility.
It is said that Xhaka’s departure from Arsenal is now realistic, as Mikel Arteta has brought in Thomas Partey, and Inter would be willing to take the Swiss international.
The deal could actually suit both parties, as Xhaka may no longer have a place in his favoured position at Arsenal, and Eriksen would add creativity to their midfield.

The 28-year-old, who was hailed as ‘world-class by Luka Modric (Sports Mole), was once one of the leading playmakers in the Premier League, but he has not shown his best form for at least two years now.
Eriksen’s standards dipped badly during his final year at Spurs, and he has been unable to snap out of his slump at the San Siro.
If he was to arrive at Arsenal he would, therefore, do so with a point to prove.
And there is little doubt that if Arteta could find a way to get Eriksen performing at the peak of his powers again, then he could be an excellent addition to the Gunners’ squad.
