Alvaro Morata to Arsenal is a transfer rumour that’s gathering some pace at the moment.

CDS in Italy reported on Tuesday that the Atletico Madrid-owned hitman was keen on a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Morata is on loan with Juventus and the Italian outfit are interested in signing him on a permanent basis this summer.

However, Calciomercato has reported today that Arsenal could ‘tease’ a move for the Spain international.

The report adds that Morata may still be interested in joining the Gunners regardless of whether they qualify for the Champions League, with their top-four effort coming off the rails in recent weeks.

Crucially, though, Calciomercato also point that the Emirates Stadium outfit could offer him ‘much more’ than the Serie A giants and that it could swing it for Mikel Arteta and Edu.

Reluctance

Arsenal supporters might be a little reluctant – and rightly so.

Remember, Morata has already been tested in the Premier League and failed for the most part.

Sixteen goals in 47 Premier League appearances for Chelsea wasn’t a glowing return, prior to his £58 million move to Atletico Madrid.

And now that he’s 29 is there any sense of Arsenal spending big to bring him back, based on his history in England’s top flight?

Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte was a fan, describing him as a ‘strong and talented‘ striker during his time in West London.

But although the Gunners can reportedly blow Juve out of the water with personal terms, is he worth it?

Arguably not.
