Arsenal are confident of signing Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.
Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette
According to reports from The Times, Arsenal have made a club-record £44 million bid for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.
The report adds that the Gunners are hoping to complete a deal with the French club next week.
Meanwhile, Sky Sports are claiming that Arsenal are in talks with Lyon, and are confident of landing the player.
Lacazette’s scoring record over the past few seasons have been nothing short of spectacular, with him registering over 20 goals in each of the past four seasons.
The 2016/17 campaign has been his best by far, where he scored 37 times in 45 games.
If he agrees personal terms, the transfer would eclipse the £42.5 million fee that Arsenal paid for Mesut Ozil four years ago.

Lacazette had hoped to join Atletico Madrid this summer, but FIFA’s transfer ban on them removed that option.
Liverpool are also heavily linked with a move for the 26-year-old striker, with the Express reporting earlier this month that the Reds were ready to meet his agent to discuss about a possible deal.
It remains to be seen whether Liverpool make a late move for the striker or not, and in case they do, whether Lacazette still fancies moving to Arsenal, as he reportedly wishes to play for a Champions League club.
