Arsenal are set to launch a ‘decisive’ bid of £28m for Sheffield United ace Aaron Ramsdale, according to the Star.
What’s the story?
The news is contrary to what emerged last week about Arsenal’s pursuit of the goalkeeper.
A move for Ramsdale broke down last week after the two clubs failed to agree on a fee for the shot-stopper. Arsenal failed to meet the Yorkshire outfit’s £35m asking price.
However, it seems a move could now be reignited, according to the latest reports. The Star says the Gunners are confident their new offer will be accepted by the Blades.
Arsenal have been searching for a number two goalkeeper all summer long. Mat Ryan departed after his loan spell ended, while Alex Runarsson is not deemed good enough after his failure last season.

£28m would be too much for Ramsdale
Everything seemed good last Wednesday evening as a move for the stopper fell through.
It seemed for all the world as if the Gunners had realised Ramsdale wasn’t worth Sheffield United’s asking price.
However, hearing the Gunners could return with a new offer of around £28m is interesting.
Ramsdale isn’t worth a £28m bid from Arsenal. The club need to be wary of spending such a steep fee on their number two ‘keeper.
There are still a number of positions to strengthen this summer, including right-back and attacking midfield. With no standout candidate for the starting berth on the right-side of defence, Arsenal should see that as a more important issue.
Meanwhile, as the Brentford loss showed, a lack of creativity is harmful to Arsenal and needs addressing.
It makes such an expensive bid for Ramsdale look fairly shocking from the side’s perspective.
Meanwhile, here is how fans reacted to Omar Rekik’s display from last night.
