It’s no wonder Arsenal are reportedly eager to keep Martin Odegaard in North London.

The 22-year-old has scored his first two goals for the Gunners over the past six days – a thunderous effort in a Europa League win away to Olympiacos last week, before swiping home in the North London derby victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Odegaard, who joined Arsenal on a half-season loan from Real Madrid in January, is improving virtually every time that he pulls on the shirt and The Mail reported that the capital club want to keep him.

And it seems like Mikel Arteta is a big fan of the Norway international.

According to Football London, Arteta has been left blown away by how quickly Odegaard has adapted to English football, with the report adding that he’s particularly impressed by the youngster’s application behind the scenes in training at London Colney.

Arsenal were badly missing somebody of Odegaard’s ilk during the first half of the campaign, when the Spanish coach was in dire need of a creative spark after exiling Mesut Ozil.

But it looks like the Real playmaker fits that role perfectly and another strong showing in Thursday’s visit of the Greek side will only reinforce the desire to see him stay in England for the long term.
