It’s been three years since former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger brought Sead Kolasinac to North London.
Kolasinac was released by Schalke in the summer of 2017 and Wenger moved quickly to sign the Bosnia & Herzegovina international on a Bosman.
And the 27-year-old has been a decent addition by Arsenal, making 71 Premier League appearances since arriving in England, scoring twice and setting up 11 goals.
But is his time coming to an end? Possibly.
According to The Times, the Germany-born defender is among the players who Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is willing to offload this summer.
The report adds that Arteta wants to sell some centre-backs, in addition to the left-back.
Kolasinac won’t be missed all that much in a footballing sense, though.
Kieran Tierney is finally starting to look like a brilliant signing by the club’s hierarchy, having dazzled in recent games.
And Bukayo Saka has proven earlier this season that he’s a more-than-capable deputy at left-back, which means that Kolasinac is effectively third-choice for that role.
Considering he earns £100,000 per week, that’s a very expensive squad player to have and with Arsenal making cut-backs, offloading the powerful defender makes perfect sense.
