Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will be given any funds he raises from player sales to invest with Thomas Partey still firmly on his radar, the Telegraph report.
Arsenal are on the verge of selling Ainsley Maitland-Niles to Wolves for £20 million, and that deal effectively covers the fee which they have paid to Lille to sign Gabriel.
Arsenal will now be looking to raise further funds through sales, as Arteta plots a double swoop in midfield.
Arsenal are said to consider Thomas Partey as a ‘key’ target still, and Arteta also wants to bring in Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid again.
The Gunners realise that neither transfer will be possible without sales, but the good news for Arteta is that the board do not plan on keeping any of the money raised this summer.
Instead, Arsenal are hoping to re-invest and upgrade areas of their first-team squad which need renovation.

Arsenal actually struggled to find a reliable pairing in midfield for much of last term, although Granit Xhaka and Dani Ceballos did a good job after the Premier League restarted.
Ceballos’s return, therefore, would be good for news for Arsenal, but it is Partey’s potential arrival which has really excited the Emirates Stadium crowd.
Partey would provide Arsenal with the defensive discipline and physical strength which has been lacking from their squad for many years, and they would surely be a much stronger team with the Ghanian signed up.
