Arsenal are interested in signing Jonny Evans from West Brom again, which will come as a blow to West Ham.

Arsenal have rekindled their interest in West Bromwich Albion defender Jonny Evans, according to the Mirror, who is available for just £3m following the club’s relegation.

Evans can leave for such a relatively low fee due to a release clause written into the 30-year-old’s contract in the event that the Baggies went down to the Championship.

This news will come as a blow to West Ham United, who the Mirror reported last month were hoping to snap up the experienced centre-back themselves to improve their own defence.

Crystal Palace, Everton, Leicester City and Newcastle United are understood to be the other Premier League clubs keeping a close eye on developments.

The Gunners have once again turned their attention to Evans as they look to offload Shkodran Mustafi this summer, while Laurent Koscielny is out until Christmas with an Achilles injury.

The BBC outlined that the North London club had a bid of £12m for the Northern Ireland international rejected during the January transfer window, with West Brom looking for in excess of £20m at the time.

Now they will be able to snap up Evans for a fraction of the price.
