Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have reportedly made a new offer for Chelsea forward Kai Havertz.
The Daily Mail are reporting this morning (8:42am, June 20, 2023) that Arsenal have made a second and improved offer to sign Kai Havertz from London and Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
Arsenal’s opening bid of £50 million was turned down by Chelsea.
The Gunners have now made an improved verbal offer of a guaranteed £55 million plus an extra £5m in bonuses.
So, it seems that Arsenal are now willing to pay £5 million more in guaranteed sumfor Havertz, who can operate as a forward or as an attacking midfielder.
The Daily Mail have added that Arsenal will pay Havertz a weekly salary of £210,000 and have a broad agreement in place over personal terms with the Chelsea star.
Chelsea want between £70 million and £75 million for the 24-year-old, according to the report.

Could Arsenal sign Kai Havertz from Chelsea for £55 million?
In our opinion, Arsenal are unlikely to be able to tempt Chelsea into selling Kai Havertz for an initial transfer fee of £55 million.
After all, it is just £5 million more than what Arsenal had offered in their first bid.
We do not think that Chelsea will sell the forward for a guarantee £55 million when they are looking for at least £70 million for him.
Yes, the Blues could sell the forward for less than £70 million, but surely not for £15 million less what they are looking for.
If Arsenal are to sign the forward, then they are likely to have to pay at least £60 million as guaranteed sum.
