According to Italian newspaper Il Mattino, Arsenal have come forward with interest in Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski.
The Gunners are expected to sign Anderlecht midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga in the near future, but he isn’t the only player bolstering Mikel Arteta’s engine room.
Arsenal are still looking for an immediate impact player in midfield, with the likes of Ruben Neves and Manuel Locatelli linked.
Arsenal now want to sign Zielinski
Il Mattino claim that Arsenal have ‘shown up’ for Zielinski, attempting to bring him to North London this summer.
The report adds that nobody is untouchable at Napoli, but Aurelio De Laurentiis will not sell anybody on the cheap.
That means Arsenal would have to dig deep for Zielinski, with the Italian side seemingly under no pressure to sell right now.

What has been said about Zielinski?
The 27-year-old has been a quality midfielder in Italy for years now, first Udinese and Empoli before moving to Napoli in 2016.
Polish legend Zbigniew Boniek suggested earlier this year that Zielinski could become even better than Kevin De Bruyne if he just added goals to his game, seemingly suggesting the rest of his attributes are on par with the Belgian.
Bruno Fernandes even thinks Zielinski is a better technical player than he is, branding him a ‘really, really top player’.
It looks like Arsenal could bring a real quality player to North London if they can pull off a deal for Zielinski, but it won’t be easy.
