Arsenal youngster Brooke Norton-Cuffy is reportedly close to leaving the club on loan for League One side Lincoln City.

According to CBS Soccer reporter James Benge, the 18-year-old right-back will join the third-tier side for the remainder of the season. With Lincoln short on players in the position due to injuries, this could well be a great move for Norton-Cuffy.

The defender has featured quite a bit for Kevin Betsy’s U-23 side this season, with Norton-Cuffy making 11 appearances and playing just over 800 minutes of football.

A knee injury has kept Norton-Cuffy out of action for a good chunk of the season, though. However, the defender is now back to his best, with the youngster starting five of Arsenal’s last six U-23 games.

A defender who inspires his game on the likes of Reece James and Dani Alves as per the Secret Scout, Norton-Cuffy could be the next right-back prospect to emerge from Hale End following the success of Hector Bellerin.

Noted for his versatility and athleticism, Norton-Cuffy is at the perfect stage of his career to play professional football. And a move to Lincoln could be ideal for the 18-year-old right-back.

With Lincoln just hovering above the relegation zone in League One, Norton-Cuffy is being thrown right into the midst of EFL football. And for the teenager, this is the perfect environment to learn the ropes of the professional game.

Indeed, Lincoln have nurtured some impressive players in recent years. And for Norton-Cuffy, he must use this opportunity to learn as much as possible and get as many minutes in League One before the end of the season, which will be crucial for his development.
