This is shaping up to be a very good week for Arsenal.

Earlier in the week the Gunners announced that they had signed Gabriel from Lille in what’s reported to be a £27 million deal.

Gabriel was Arsenal’s second signing of the summer, after already sealing a Bosman move for Willian, but there could be another addition on the way.

Mikel Arteta revealed last week that Dani Ceballos told him personally that he wanted another stint in North London.

Ceballos joined Arsenal from Real Madrid on a season-long loan last summer and played a huge role in helping Arteta’s side to FA Cup glory only last month, despite a difficult first three or four months in the Premier League.

And according to Spanish outlet ABC, the player will re-sign for the Emirates Stadium side today.

The report claims that Ceballos had his medical in London yesterday and will sign another season-long loan agreement.

With money tight at the Emirates, this is a great bit of business.

If all goes well, Arsenal should have a lot more money coming in next summer, after regaining their match-day revenue, and the club ought to be in a better position to sign Ceballos on a permanent basis.

But by re-signing him on loan, it allows Edu and Arteta to use the bulk of their budget on other positions for now.
