According to The Telegraph, Raheem Sterling will park contract talks until after Euro 2020 – but Arsenal or Tottenham are unlikely to land him.

It’s claimed that Sterling has no interest in being used as a bargaining tool amid claims he could be offered to Spurs in a deal for Harry Kane.

Sterling will speak to City about his contract after the Euros have finished, having buried the winner for England against Croatia on Sunday.

Sterling in limbo at City

The 26-year-old had an underwhelming season by his usually high standards despite City wining the title. A relatively poor season for Sterling still saw him bag 14 goals.

With two years left on his City deal, Sterling now finds himself in limbo at the Etihad Stadium; does he try and get back to top form under Pep Guardiola, or look to move on after six years with the club?

Sterling is clearly a quality player, but there doesn’t seem to be many obvious moves for him right now, meaning City may be his best bet.

Sterling to Arsenal and Tottenham? Forget about it

The Sun reported earlier this month that Arsenal were leading the race to sign Sterling with his former Manchester City coach Mikel Arteta at the club, but he had been offered up to Tottenham as a makeweight for Kane.

This new report states that neither side can actually afford to sign Sterling, whose £300,000-a-week wages would be a huge problem for either side.

You can pretty much forget about Sterling joining Arsenal or Tottenham and time soon. Maybe he heads back to London one day, but it’s surely impossible right now.
