Andrea Belotti, who is reportedly on the radar for both Arsenal and Tottenham, is now in talks to join MLS side Toronto FC in 2022.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Torino captain has been approached by the Canadian club about a potential move across the Atlantic in the summer of next year.

Belotti’s contract with the Turin-based side expires at the end of this season. And with reports suggesting that Torino will only sell the striker for €25m (£21m) in the January window, the Italian international will likely leave for free in the summer.

Indeed, Arsenal and Tottenham have both been linked with the attacker as per Football Italia. However, it appears that Toronto have taken a shock lead in the race to sign Belotti in 2022.

The MLS side won just six games in the 2021 season as they finished 13th in the Eastern Conference.

However, under new manager Bob Bradley, Toronto have some huge plans in the works, with Lorenzo Insigne reportedly close to agreeing on a deal with the franchise.

Arsenal and Spurs can do better than Toronto-bound Belotti

There’s no denying that the 28-year-old attacker will be a man in demand in 2022. After all, Belotti has proven to be one of the most consistent goalscorers in Serie A over the past few seasons, yet for Arsenal and Spurs, they will both be fine if Toronto win the race for the striker.

Indeed, whilst the attacker is in the prime of his career, Arsenal and Tottenham simply don’t need a striker of Belotti’s pedigree and age based on the two north London sides’ situations regarding their strikers.
