According to Fussball Transfers and Bild, Paris Saint-Germain defender Tanguy Kouassi has decided to reject English clubs and sign for Bayern Munich.

Kouassi is out of contract this summer, and decided last week that his time with PSG was up. His destination was unknown, and some wondered if he could head to England.

Le10 Sport recently claimed that Newcastle United wanted him. They also added on Monday that Arsenal had sent an offer to the centre back in the hope of a deal.

However, Kouassi has rejected English interest and will instead move to Germany. Despite links with RB Leipzig, it’s actually Bayern Munich who have won the race.

Bayern will allegedly pay just €300,000 (£268,000) in compensation for Kouassi with his PSG deal over, and joins Alexander Nubel in arriving at the Allianz Arena this summer.

Kouassi, 18, has already made six Ligue 1 appearances for PSG, scoring two goals. The Frenchman has been tipped for a huge future, and it seems that he will be spending that future with Bayern.

Arsenal and Newcastle will now need to look elsewhere if they want a new centre back, with the two clubs missing out on a potential bargain in Kouassi.
