According to L’Equipe and Get French Football News, Arsenal and Newcastle United are both interested in signing Georginio Rutter.

It’s claimed that Arsenal and Newcastle have made contact to try and sign the teenager, but they face major competition.

Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig all want to sign the Rennes talent, whilst AC Milan have made contact too.

Rutter has less than 12 months left on his Rennes contract, and could be sold this summer before he walks away for nothing in 2021.

Rutter is allegedly ‘coy’ with all interested parties right now, and wants assurances that he will get game time if he is to sign a new contract.

That may give Arsenal and Newcastle hope of a deal, but the massive competition for his signature makes the battle a little daunting.

Rutter, 18, scored one goal in four UEFA Youth League games last season, but has yet to make his debut for the Rennes first team.

He is still touted for a huge future at Rennes, but he may now leave France to try his hand elsewhere, with Arsenal and Newcastle hoping he picks England.
