Van der Laan is only 17 years of age, and it is clear that he is not ready for the first team at Arsenal or at Liverpool.
The Portuguese youngster is only just starting his career, and it could take him a while to establish himself on the world stage.
Perhaps for now, it would be best for the teenager to stay in his native Portugal and try to establish himself in the starting lineup at Belenenses.
