Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle United are showing a keen interest in signing Middlesbrough talent Hayden Hackney.

Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney is now a wanted man with Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle United among the clubs keen.

That is according to a report from 90Min, who claim that Arsenal and Liverpool have been scouting Hackney of late.

Newcastle United are understood to have taken a real interest in Hackney whilst Leicester City and Nottingham Forest are keen too.

It’s stated that Boro simply aren’t in a position to reject considerable offers for their star men this summer.

Chuba Akpom could be one player to go after a stunning season front of goal.

Boro really fear that Hackney could leave though with some of the Premier League’s big boys now interested.

Who is Arsenal and Liverpool target Hayden Hackney?

Hackney was born in Redcar up in the North East, just about 15 minutes outside of Middlesbrough.

Hackney unsurprisingly joined the Boro ranks and was brought into their youth setup at Under-10 level.

The midfielder was given a senior debut in January 2021 and he was loaned out to Scunthorpe United seven months later.

Hackney played 31 times for the Iron before heading back to Boro last summer.

Michael Carrick’s arrival as Boro boss really helped Hackney take his game to another level and he became a top player this season.

Hackney racked up 36 Championship appearances for Boro this season, notching three goals and four assists.

Hailed as ‘terrific’ by Michael Carrick, Hackney has predominantly played as a holding midfielder this season but can also operate as a box-to-box player.

Hackney has huge potential at just 20 and is also the centre of a tug-of-war between England and Scotland on the international stage.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle may be tempted to sign Hackney as one for the future, with a loan back to Boro possibly ideal this summer.
