Arsenal have been heavily linked with Bayer Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby in recent months.

Earlier this year, Fabrizio Romano spoke of the Gunners and their long-term interest in the forward.

“Moussa Diaby is a player that Arsenal have been following for a long time and they know him very well,” he told GiveMeSport.

Now, SportBILD has provided an update involving the Gunners and the 23-year-old.

The German outlet, via Sport Witness, claims Arsenal are ‘among the favourites’ for Diaby’s signature.

In addition, the report said the Gunners ‘keep in touch’ with the player about a potential summer move.

Arsenal have reportedly tried their luck in the past, but Leverkusen have held firm over Diaby.

Now, the Bundesliga club have apparently accepted that they need to sell as the player pushes for a move.

The report adds that Leverkusen are eyeing a fourfold profit on Diaby, who cost €15million in 2019.

Therefore, Arsenal could have to pay €60million (£53million) for the Frenchman’s services.

Our view

Diaby is an absolutely outstanding player, who boasts plenty of qualities including his pace and dribbling.

According to the Bundesliga’s official website last year, he has ‘the capability to shatter land speed records’.

Lauded as ‘astonishing‘ for his displays in Germany, Diaby looks like a player with an exciting future.

Arsenal will surely fancy their chances of bringing him to the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners are a club on the up, all-but certain to play in the Champions League next term.

And obviously the prospect of playing for the reigning Premier League champions (if it happens) would be even more exciting for Diaby.
