Anton Rodgers – the son of Brendan Rodgers – appears to be training with Celtic.
According to the Daily Record, Anton Rodgers has joined Celtic for their trip to Austria for pre-season friendlies, sparking rumours that he may be on trial with the club.
The Bhoys will be gearing up for the Champions League qualifying campaign by playing a number of friendlies, first against BW Linz and Rapid Vienna in Austria and then Slavia Prague in the Czech Republic.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers arrives with his son Anton Rodgers
Celtic flew out to Austria on Monday in order to kick off that programme, and a new face was seen boarding the flight – Anton Rodgers, the son of Bhoys manager Brendan Rodgers.
The Daily Record note that he was seen in Celtic gear boarding the plane alongside the likes of Moussa Dembele and new signing Jonny Hayes, though it’s unclear just what Anton’s role is right now.
The 24-year-old was in the youth ranks at Chelsea under his father, before moving on to Brighton and Hove Albion, where he failed to make an appearance and joined Exeter on loan.
A move to Oldham Athletic materialised but didn’t give him much success, and the diminutive midfielder has just come to the end of a three-year spell with Swindon Town, where he notched six goals in 79 games.

Now searching for a new club, Rodgers has surprisingly joined up with Celtic for what appears to be a trial spell, or at least training with the Bhoys under his father to keep fit ahead of joining another club.
Rodgers’ lack of success in the Football League in England means it’s unlikely that he would be joining Celtic as a first-team player, but as he links up with the Bhoys for pre-season, he at least has a chance to impress.
