Released Celtic striker Anthony Stokes has reportedly agreed a contract with Blackburn Rovers despite interest from Queens Park Rangers and Rotherham United.

Anthony Stokes has agreed to join Championship club Blackburn Rovers, according to The Daily Express.
It has been reported that the former Celtic striker has agreed on a three-year contract with Blackburn.
The Republic of Ireland international will reportedly compete his medical on Friday and officially join Rovers.

According to The Daily Express, Championship rivals Queens Park Rangers and Rotherham United also wanted to sign the 27-year-old.
However, according to the report, Rotherham could not match the finances or the length of the contract offered by Blackburn.
Stokes was released by Scottish Premiership giants Celtic earlier this month.

The former Sunderland striker struggled to play regularly for Celtic during the first half of the 2015-16 campaign, but he recovered his form after joining Hibernian on loan in the January transfer window.
The former Arsenal prospect was a key player in Hibernian’s Scottish Cup triumph, and Blackburn fans will hope that he carries his form into the 2016-17 season.
Blackburn finished 15th in the Championship last season and will be aiming to end up in the top 10 during the 2016-17 campaign.
