Newcastle United are having a late trolley dash ahead of the transfer deadline.
According to The Mirror, Nantes winger Anthony Limbombe is in talks with Newcastle United about a last-gasp loan move.
The Magpies picked up a shock win over Manchester City on Tuesday night, and having taken a while to get going in the transfer market, they now have the impetus to go and strike deals.
Sky Sports report that three deals are close, with Monaco left back Antonio Barreca, Benfica midfielder Andreas Samaris and Atlanta United playmaker Miguel Almiron all set to sign.
But could a third arrival be on the cards? The Mirror report this evening that Nantes winger Limbombe is in talks with the Magpies about a loan move to St James’ Park.
Limbombe, 24, only joined Nantes from Club Brugge back in August, but he could already be on the move as Newcastle attempt to bring him in.
An exciting, pacy winger with one Belgium cap to his name, Limbombe has started just six Ligue 1 games this season, making an additional 10 substitute appearances whilst registering no goals and one assist.
That record may not make Limbombe seem exciting, but he just hasn’t settled in France having previously shown his quality in Belgium with six goals and seven assists last term.
Primarily a left winger, Limbombe could provide a direct threat out wide for Newcastle, and bring Kenedy’s future at St James’ Park into doubt whilst freeing up Jacob Murphy to move out on loan.
