Report: Andy Carroll’s allegedly told West Ham he’s unable to train

West Ham United striker Andy Carroll is claiming that he is currently unable to train due to an injury.

According to a report from the Daily Mirror, West Ham forward Andy Carroll has told his club that he is currently unable to train due to an ankle injury.

Carroll has not featured for David Moyes’ side in recent times, and the report from the Mirror has suggested that the 29-year-old has now been sidelined with what he suggests is a problem with his ankle.

However, the Mirror claims that the scans that West Ham have done have shown no particular problems with the Englishman – who has scored twice in the Premier League for the Irons this season, with both goals coming in 2-1 victory over West Brom at the London Stadium earlier in the month.

In fairness to Carroll, he has struggled with injuries for much of his career, so even if the problem is not substantial according to the scans, he could perhaps be forgiven for being cautious if he is feeling a problem.

However, his hopes of having the Hammers fans believe his side of the story have probably not been helped by the fact that he has been linked with a move to Chelsea during this window.

The Mirror reports that the Blues are yet to make a bid for the striker but are interested in a loan deal, while West Ham are only ready to consider permanent bids for the former Liverpool man and want at least £20 million.
