Rangers boss Mark Warburton wanted to bring the Aberdeen defender to Ibrox in January.
Rangers will not be signing Aberdeen stalwart Andrew Considine this month, despite reported interest from Ibrox in the Dons defensive ace.
This morning the Aberdeen Evening Express has reported the news and suggest that club sources at Pittodrie have insisted that Considine will not be leaving the club in January – despite the interest from Glasgow.

It was reported by the Sunday Post that Rangers boss Mark Warburton is a big fan of the experienced defender and that a move for his services was high on the agenda for this month.
The 29-year-old has been with Aberdeen for 12 years and established himself as a key member of the first-team at the club. He is out of contract in the summer and it was suggested Aberdeen might be willing to sell him now before losing him for nothing.

Rangers will therefore still have a chance to sign him, and for nothing, in the summer. However, Warburton is likely to have wanted to strengthen his defensive options at Ibrox now – rather than wait until the summer.
But Aberdeen are clearly hopeful they can convince their veteran defender to stick around beyond the summer and a sale in the winter is out of the question.
Rangers must look elsewhere for defensive recruits this month.
