West Bromwich Albion are set to land Andrea Ranocchia, who impressed at Hull City yesterday.

According to a report in the Daily Star, Andrea Ranocchia is set to sign for West Bromwich Albion, and will be given an £80,000-a-week contract.

Ranocchia impressed at Hull City towards the back end of last season, and West Brom are keen to bring him back to England.

Tony Pulis’ side are now on the verge of sealing a deal with Inter Milan for the 29-year-old defender.

West Brom are prepared to pay £5 million to sign Ranocchia, and will immediately hand him a big contract.

The Italian defender looks set to become one of West Brom’s top earners, with the defender to pen a two-year deal.

West Brom have beaten off competition from Huddersfield Town and Genoa to sign Ranocchia.

Ranocchia could go straight into the Baggies’ first-team upon signing at the Hawthorns.

If Ranoccia does start for West Brom he is likely to partner Jonny Evans in defence for Pulis’s men.
