According to the Daily Mail, Marseille have held talks over a deal to sign Leicester City winger Demarai Gray on a free transfer.
It’s claimed that Benfica and Monaco are also keen on Gray, but Marseille have made their first move for the wide man.
Gray’s Leicester contract expires at the end of the season, and he can now negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs.
The 24-year-old has only made two first-team appearances for Leicester this season, and it’s clear that his time with the Foxes is coming to an end.
Marseille would certainly be able to give him first-team football, but there is also Premier League interest in his signature.
Duncan Castles recently reported that Leicester think Gray will be joining Tottenham Hotspur when his contract expires, but Marseille are now attempting to swoop in.

That would mean Andre Villas-Boas – the current Marseille manager – would be beating Tottenham to a bargain signing.
Villas-Boas would no doubt love that, and with Spurs unable to talk to Gray until the summer, Marseille may find themselves as favourites right now.
