According to Il Milanista, Carlo Ancelotti is keen to raid his former side AC Milan to bring Alessio Romagnoli to Everton.
The 12-cap Italy international finds himself out of contract at the San Siro in June 2022.
As a result, AC Milan director Paolo Maldini is considering whether to cash in on the 26-year-old or not.
Il Milanista add that Manchester United are also keen on Romagnoli, who is valued at €28 million (£24 million) by AC Milan.
The report also states that Ancelotti wants to make the Anzio-born colossus the new leader of his backline on Merseyside.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Everton have been linked with Romagnoli.
Back in May 2017, the Mirror claimed that the Italian was on Ronald Koeman’s list of targets, as the Dutchman planned a squad revamp.
Nearly four years on from that date, and it seems as if the Toffees are still just as keen on signing the AC Milan captain.

Romagnoli has made 28 appearances in all competitions this season, helping AC Milan sit second in Serie A – just six points off the summit.
If AC Milan decide to keep the defender, they run the risk of losing him for nothing in the summer of 2022, or for a cut-price fee in January 2022 if he refuses to sign a new deal.
In that respect, his future is certainly worth keeping an eye on this summer.
