Barely a week went by without Veronique taking pot-shots at PSG in the French media. And, with a rather unseemly situation still fresh in the mind, it should be no surprise to learn that she is taking a lead role in negotiating the future of her son once again.
TuttoJuve claims that Veronique has held negotiations with Ancelotti regarding a deal that would see Rabiot leave Turin just 12 months after joining Juventus on a free transfer from PSG.
It is no secret that Everton would jump at the chance to sign a top-class central midfielder who was handed his debut by Ancelotti eight years ago at the Parc des Princes. And, according to TuttoJuve, Rabiot’s £18 million valuation is unlikely to put off the Toffees, even in a market beset by unprecedented financial uncertainty.
Suggestions that Juventus are ready let the France international go already might raise eyebrows. But even Italy’s biggest clubs have been hit hard by the global health crisis and the chance to make a near-£20 million profit on a player who has struggled for starts under Maurizio Sarri is understandably a tempting proposition.
But Everton should be wary.
