Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti has convinced James Rodriguez to make the move to Goodison Park, the Daily Mirror report.

Everton are looking to make the highly ambitious move of bringing in the Colombian playmaker this summer, and it seems that Ancelotti’s influence may have put the transfer on course to go through.

The Italian boss has reportedly spoken to Rodriguez and told him all about Everton’s aims over the coming years, as well as how he will fit into the Toffees’ system.

Rodriguez, who was labelled ‘extraordinary’ by Fernando Morientes in AS Sport, is now seemingly convinced that a move to Merseyside would be good for him, and all that is left to agree is a fee and personal terms.

With Madrid keen to offload the 29-year-old, it seems only a matter of time before Everton reach a deal with the Spanish club.

And the extremely exciting transfer looks all set to go though now, which highlights the worth of appointing a manager with Ancelotti’s standing for Everton.

Rodriguez should significantly improve the quality of Everton’s midfield options, and his arrival could convince others of the Toffees’ ambition to make a real impact over the coming campaign.
