Tottenham Hotspur’s Kyle-Walker Peters still thinks he’ll be leaving this summer to join Southampton, even though Pierre Emile Hojbjerg’s move to North London is now in serious doubt, as per the London Evening Standard.
Walker-Peters initially looked like being used as part of a deal to bring Hojbjerg to Tottenham.
However, Everton are now leading the race for the Danish midfielder, with Spurs looking likely to miss out on signing their target.
If Hojbjerg doesn’t join Tottenham that complicates matters for Walker-Peters, as Southampton will have to strike a deal to buy him from Jose Mourinho’s side.
However, the right-back is said to be confident that a transfer to the Saints will still go through.
If Walker-Peters does leave Tottenham it may disappoint some supporters.

The youngster has done well on a loan spell at Southampton, while Tottenham’s current options at right-back haven’t looked entirely convincing.
Although Walker-Peters hasn’t nailed down a place in Spurs’s team, there are some who argue that he was never afforded enough chances by Mauricio Pochettino or Jose Mourinho.
Pochettino did talk up the talents of Walker-Peters during his time at the club, saying he had ‘amazing quality’ to Football 365, but it seems that if he is to fulfil his potential, the England youth international will be doing so away from Hotspur Way.
