The Aston Villa flop could find his place in the side taken by Norwich City’s star man.
Aston Villa outcast Aly Cissokho is on the verge of a season-long loan move to Olympiakos, the Birmingham Mail report, as Steve Bruce aims to bring in a replacement before the end of January.
The former France international was once one of the most highly rated young left-backs in the game with a number of Europe’s strongest sides repeatedly linked with a big-money move after he made his breakthrough with Porto.

However, it’s fair to say his career has fallen a little short of expectations with his three seasons at Villa Park epitomised by a series of defensive blunders.
Consequently, Steve Bruce has frozen Cissokho out of the side, his last appearance coming against Reading in October, and the Birmingham Mail report that his Aston Villa career could well be coming to an overdue end with Greek giants Olympiakos ready to make a January move.
As a result, Villa will be in the market for a replacement, with owner Dr Tony Xia making it clear that funds will be available to strengthen the squad.
However, with reported target Jeffrey Schlupp set to be swayed by West Brom’s Premier League status rather than face the prospect of dropping down a division, the Birmingham Mail add, Villa could step up their interest in Robbie Brady.

The Sun reported that Villa were set to offer Norwich £10 million for the Republic of Ireland international who could challenge Jordan Amavi for the left-back berth or fill in further forwards.
