According to Foot Mercato and L’Equipe, Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Alphonse Areola is all set for a move to Fulham.
It’s claimed that Areola is signing for Fulham on loan for the season following their promotion to the Premier League.
Areola is believed to be ‘very close’ to signing for Fulham now, and he allegedly loves London and already owns a house there.
Rennes wanted Areola too, but he preferred Fulham, and the deal will likely go through in ‘the coming hours’.
Areola, 27, spent last season on loan at Real Madrid, when PSG replaced him with the last goalkeeper Fulham had on loan in the Premier League – Sergio Rico.
The Frenchman only played nine games at Real last season, and will now likely displace Marek Rodak as Fulham’s first-choice.

This means that Arsenal won’t be signing Areola, as the London Evening Standard reported on Tuesday that the Gunners had been offered the chance to sign Areola.
Areola could have been an option if Emiliano Martinez had moved on, but he remains at the club – and it’s no surprise that Arsenal didn’t feel that they could commit to signing Areola right now.
