Almen Abdi is reportedly set to accept a huge pay cut to end his time at Sheffield Wednesday and return to boyhood club Zurich.

Abdi still has a year left to run on his contract at Hillsborough, but having barely played this season, both parties could be keen for an exit.
The 31-year-old managed just seven appearances in all competitions in 2017/18 and only four in the Championship as the midfielder failed to make an impression on successive managers in Carlos Carvalhal and Jos Luhukay.
Now Zurich are interested in bringing Abdi back to the club where he broke through from the academy into the first team back in 2003, playing 167 times before leaving for Le Mans in January 2010.
The Switzerland international’s time in France lasted just six months before a switch to Udinese and he became known to English fans for his three years spent with Watford.
Abdi left Vicarage Road to join the Owls in the summer of 2016, but has played just 23 games since, and is prepared to accept almost half of what he is currently earning at Wednesday to return to his boyhood club.
