Sam Allardyce is a big fan of Hamza Choudhury with the Leicester City midfielder a January loan target for West Bromwich Albion, as reported by the Express and Star.
While the England U21 international often strays the line between aggression and sheer recklessness, Choudhury at his best is a midfield destroyer who would be a fine addition to most Premier League teams. Particularly one with the worst defensive record in the division.
West Brom have conceded nine goals in their last two matches and, if Allardyce is to pull off another Houdini-esque escapology act this season, improvements are required – and fast.
The Express and Star reports that Choudhury will be allowed to leave Leicester on loan this month, having fallen behind Nampalys Mendy in Brendan Rodgers’ pecking order.

The 23-year-old has been offered to Southampton and Newcastle United but, with Allardyce a firm admirer of the tough-tackling number six, West Brom have now thrown their hat into the ring.
Choudhury has started just one Premier League game so far in 2020/21 and a short-term spell away from the King Power would surely suit all parties – including a West Brom side crying out for some protection in front of a vulnerable backline.
“He is a great player to have on the pitch. I don’t think there are many players like him that are as good as him at the other side of the game,” former West Brom loanee and current Leicester star Harvey Barnes told the Mercury of Choudhury.
“We have got a lot of quality but it helps having a player like that who is so good off the ball.”
