According to the Daily Star, West Bromwich Albion boss Sam Allardyce wants a reunion with Manchester United defender Phil Jones.
Allardyce was appointed as the new West Brom manager just a matter of days ago, after the Baggies somewhat controversially sacked Slaven Bilic.
Allardyce may have plans in mind for January signings, and he allegedly wants to work with United defender Jones once again.
Jones came through at Blackburn under Allardyce, and his displays under ‘Big Sam’ earned him his £16.5million move to United in 2011.
Allardyce told The Telegraph just months later that he thought Jones would become England captain one day, backing him for a huge future.
That hasn’t really happened for Jones, who has suffered from injuries, competition for places and fairly regular mistakes.

Now 28, Jones hasn’t played at all for United this season, and clearly needs to move on in order to salvage his Premier League career.
Reuniting with Allardyce may be appealing to Jones, but there are other clubs interested, such as Derby County and Burnley, meaning West Brom may need all of Allardyce’s pulling power to seal a move.
