According to The Mirror (27/12, p69), West Bromwich Albion boss Sam Allardyce wants to reunite with Everton striker Cenk Tosun.

It’s claimed that Allardyce is eyeing a loan deal for Tosun, in the hope of bolstering West Brom’s attacking options for the second half of the season.

Big-money summer signing Karlan Grant hasn’t really got going yet, so adding Tosun could give Allardyce a more proven threat.

Allardyce was Everton boss when Tosun made the move to Goodison Park from Besiktas in January 2018, with a £27million deal struck.

The Turkish hitman scored five times in just 14 games under Allardyce; the rest of his record at Everton is five goals in 42 games.

Allardyce helped get the best out of Tosun, though the striker suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament injury back in March, so recapturing his best form won’t be easy.

The 29-year-old admitted earlier this year that Allardyce wanted to sign him at Crystal Palace, so a deal with West Brom would certainly make sense.

Everton are unlikely to put up much of a fight to keep Tosun, but it will now be on West Brom to come up with a deal that suits the Toffees financially.
