Everton are reportedly set to keep hold of Sandro Ramirez and James McCarthy.
According to the Daily Mail, Everton are unlikely to let James McCarthy and Sandro Ramirez leave the club in January after Sam Allardyce saw the pair impress in a behind-closed-doors friendly.
The Toffees have impressed under Allardyce, dropping just two points in four games under his tutelage, and are heading towards the January transfer window with renewed optimism.
Allardyce may be looking for new signings, with a fairly big squad when including a whole host of young players, some players may need to leave the club next month.
Two players thought to be on the chopping block were James McCarthy and Sandro Ramirez, but the Daily Mail report that Allardyce is likely to keep both players after they impressed in a behind-closed-doors friendly this week.
Midfielder McCarthy was one of Roberto Martinez’s key signings at Goodison Park, but fell out of favour under Ronald Koeman last season, and speculation has surrounded his future for around a year now.
The Irish international, 27, has made just one first-team appearance this season, but looks set to be given a chance to impress Allardyce despite interest from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace.
The report adds that Sandro Ramirez is in a similar boat, and is set to be given chances by Allardyce, having also come off the bench against Swansea City on Monday night.
The Spaniard, who hit 14 goals in 30 games for Malaga last season, has made a slow start to life at Everton, sparking rumours of a return to Spain – but the summer signing looks set to stay at Goodison Park next month, unless Allardyce has a change of heart.
