Everton are reportedly set to sign Besiktas hitman Cenk Tosun.
According to The Sun, Everton are poised to wrap up the signing of Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun after he completed a medical at Finch Farm on Wednesday.
The Toffees have been solid under new manager Sam Allardyce, claiming three wins and three draws from his six games in charge, with Big Sam remaining unbeaten as Everton boss.
However, after two 0-0 draws in a row, it’s clear that Everton still need another striker, having allowed Romelu Lukaku to join Manchester United over the summer without really replacing him.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has performed admirably so far, but it now seems that Allardyce will bring in another striker in January, as The Sun report that Besiktas star Cenk Tosun is set to join Everton.
It’s claimed that Tosun has already completed a medical with Everton having been at Finch Farm on Wednesday to finalise a deal worth £20million rising to £25million.
Tosun, 26, has been a goalscoring machine for Besiktas since his 2014 move from Gaziantepspor, smashing 50 goals in his first 118 games for the club.
This term, the Turkish international has hit 13 goals in just 23 games in all competitions, with his goals unsurprisingly attracting major interest from a host of clubs, with Everton seemingly about to win the race.
The transfer window isn’t even open yet, but Everton appear to be making a swift start to their January business, and Allardyce will be praying that Tosun hits the ground running.
