According to the Express and Star, Queens Park Rangers are in advanced talks to sign Charlie Austin on loan from West Brom.
The Express and Star state that the 31-year-old’s time at the Hawthorns looks to be coming to an end as talks continue with the Championship side.
Austin – who West Brom paid £4 million for – sees his contract with the Baggies expire at the end of the season.
In that respect, even though it’s a loan, it would mean he would not be returning to West Brom when his deal with QPR expires.
Austin was seemingly surplus to requirements under Slaven Bilic, and his situation hasn’t changed at all despite Sam Allardyce’s arrival.

Under both managers, the former Southampton striker is yet to start a Premier League game this season, while he also yet to score a goal.
Despite his struggles this term, Bilic was very complimentary of the former Burnley man early last year.
Back in February, Bilic described the attacker as ‘magnificent’ amid a difficult time for him in front of goal.

After the striker endured a blank against Preston, Birmingham Live quote the Croatian as saying: ‘To be fair, I’ve been delighted with Charlie.
‘You don’t hear Charlie in the dressing room before the game, after the game – he is magnificent to us. He’s working hard.’
If Austin is feeling a bit down in the dumps, he should feel right at home back at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.
In three years with the R’s, the Hungerford-born striker scored an eye-catching 47 goals in 89 games.
