According to the Daily Star, Sam Allardyce wants to lure Manchester United’s Daniel James to West Bromwich Albion in January.
It’s claimed that Allardyce is keen to bolster his squad, and now wants to launch an ambitious move for James.
The Baggies have allegedly made contact to try and sign the winger on loan, though Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is yet to decide on such a deal.
West Brom aren’t alone though; Burnley, Brighton and Hove Albion as well as Leeds United are all keen to sign James too.
Allardyce seems to be keen on the idea of injecting some pace into this West Brom side in order to launch a push for Premier League survival.
James would certainly provide that; the 23-year-old has blistering speed, and used it to great effect as he helped dismantle Leeds last weekend.

He started again for United in the 2-2 draw at Leicester City on Saturday, but may still fancy consistent starts ahead of the European Championships.
West Brom can offer that, but long-term admirers Leeds are bound to pose a real threat to their hopes of luring James to The Hawthorns.
