According to The Express, HJK Helsinki striker Alfredo Morelos will jet into Glasgow today in order to undergo a medical with Rangers.

The Gers made it five summer signings on Sunday afternoon with the arrival of Portuguese winger Daniel Candeias, who joins Bruno Alves, Fabio Cardoso, Ryan Jack and Dalcio at Ibrox.

However, manager Pedro Caixinha’s revolution isn’t done just yet, with Mexican internationals Carlos Pena and Eduardo Herrera also set to arrive – as well as striker Alfredo Morelos.

The Express report that HJK Helsinki star Morelos will fly into Glasgow today in order to undergo a medical with Rangers and push his £1million move another step closer to completion.

Morelos, 20, was on the books with Independiente Medellin in his native Colombia before joining HJK in 2016, where he has taken Finnish football by storm.

With 40 goals in 54 games for HJK (World Football), Morelos has been a goal machine in Finland, and his exploits have caused Rangers coach Jonatan Johansson to recommend him as a signing to Caixinha.

A penalty box poacher, Morelos could form a partnership with Herrera in the Rangers attack, but even with his medical set to be completed today, there is still a major hurdle to clear for Rangers.

The Gers would need a work permit for Morelos, just as they do for Pena and Herrera, meaning that Caixinha can’t count on the striker just yet – but he will take a huge step towards joining Rangers today.
