Crystal Palace appear to be closing in on a deal to sign Alexander Sorloth during the January transfer window.

Sorloth has enjoyed a brilliant season in Denmark with Midtjylland. After arriving following a poor spell in the Netherlands with Groningen, the 22-year-old has been a revelation for his current side.

He has scored 10 goals in just 19 top flight appearances this term, and it appears that he may now be Premier League-bound, with Adresseavisen reporting that he has left a training camp in Dubai – the Danish league is currently enjoying a winter break – and is on his way to England.

Palace’s highest scoring forward is Wilfried Zaha, who has found the back of the net four times this term, so Hodgson will be hoping that Sorloth can give them more fire-power during the coming months if the deal goes through.
Palace drew 1-1 with West Ham on Tuesday, and they return to action this weekend – perhaps Sorloth may be in contention to be in the squad – as they host Newcastle at Selhurst Park.
