Arsenal are reportedly set to offer a new contract to Alex Iwobi, despite the 20-year-old extending his Gunners deal just six months ago.
The Nigeria international, who inked a new £25,000-a-week deal back in April will be offered fresh terms which will include a big pay rise if he continues his impressive start to the season, after cementing his place in manager Arsene Wenger’s first-team, reports the Daily Mirror.
Iwobi has made 28 appearances for the North London club in all competitions since his Gunners debut last season, scoring two goals and is the latest in a long line of starlets who have made an impact in the Premier League under Wenger’s guidance, thus the club now want to offer him a salary to match his peers.

The newspaper also reports that Wenger is hopeful that Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez will both sign new contracts, to commit their long-term future to the club after already starting discussions with the players.
Whilst the club’s hierarchy will also approach Hector Bellerin’s representatives over an improved deal as well. Several reports have suggested that the Spanish right-back could leave the Emirates next summer.

Bellerin is a reported target for Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and Arsenal will surely be keen on preventing another of their star players to move to the Etihad.
Wenger has seen star players such as Samir Nasri, Bacary Sagna, Kolo Toure and Gael Clichy all move to the Manchester club in recent seasons.
